Originally this activity from Calayan Island was scheduled for spring 2020. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic prevented my plan from being implemented. So, I am coming back to this idea after 3 years.
This time the activation of OC-092 will be preceded by the activation of OC-244 from Marinduque Island. From OC-092 and from OC-244 I will work using the callsign DU1/SP5APW and from OC-244 as DU1/SP5APW/P.
As far as I know the last activation of OC-092 took place in June 2017 (DU2/JA1PBV) and the activation of OC-244 in October 2018 (4G1L). So, I expect a lot of interest from IOTA hunters.
The equipment I will use is: ICOM 7300, Yaesu FT-857D, wire antennas and Buddipole. Operation on the 40-10m SSB and FT-8. Operation on 6m digi modes only.
Welcome come back to Asia!
ReplyDeleteI hope you will enjoy traveling and Dxing.
Good luck!

Thank you Hide-san! See you on air!
DeleteDear Jacek-san
ReplyDeleteI posted an introduction to your DU-IOTA plan on my blog this morning.

The number of IOTA-VHF applications for JA-IOTA surged to 22(now). Probably everyone wants 6m QSOs on OC-092 and OC-244. I think there are about twice as many challengers. Please give me a chance at CW/SSB.May I send you 6m beam antenna? Hahaha de JN6RZM
Shu-san, Don't worry! I take with me Buddipole antenna which will allow me to build 3 el. Yagi for 6m band.
DeleteMy guess is that about 40 to 70 stations from JA would like to log in. de JN6RZM
ReplyDeleteNice keying and thank you very much for our nice CW QSO on 6m for OC-244. Your antenna is doing well for beautiful signal. de JN6RZM
ReplyDeleteMy pleasure Shu-san! Sorry for asking you few times but your signal was weak and I couldn't copy your full callsign. The keying was done by Win4IcomSuite :).
